Eddie Ojeda: Multi-Genre Guitarist
The type of music Eddie Ojeda’s band produced had many different names: Glam Rock, Hair Metal, Heavy Metal, Glam Metal, Hard Rock, Shock Rock, and more. Regardless of what it was called, they played catchy tunes that entertained and inspired a generation of devoted fans. They’ve sold over 35 million albums worldwide — and they’re still at it today.
Twisted Sister, formed in 1972, became an MTV staple in the mid-1980s, driven by theatrical, high-energy music videos for hits like “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock”. Their over-the-top, rebellious visual style perfectly fit the network’s early era.
Though not the primary focus of a Twisted Sister performance, Eddie’s lead guitar riffs highlighted the band’s intense sound. His “Bulls Eye” guitar became a main visual symbol of the band.
You can catch a glimpse of Eddie playing his real “Bulls Eye” guitar in the video below of the group’s smash “I Wanna Rock.”
