We mentioned in a recent post about Tom Morello that he is included in the Rolling Stone Magazine 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list, so we have decided to occasionally take a quick from-the-bottom-to-the-top look at other guitarist who are included on both that RS 100 list and the AXE HEAVEN® roster of miniature guitar replica collectibles.

Ranked at number 96 on the Rolling Stone list is Angus Young of Australia’s AC/DC.Young is well-known for his schoolboy attire and stage antics, so it is nice to see him receive recognition as a musician, too. His blues-influenced guitar playing has helped make his band’s album Back in Black number two on the list of best-selling albums ever. To put that into proper perspective, the sales of that album are a little bit greater than Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon! Only Michael Jackson’s Thriller has sold more copies – more than twice as many.

Because Angus and his band-mates have been together for so long, since 1973, and have achieved such global fame, it is only fitting that an exhibit of AC/DC’s career and memorabilia is currently making a limited world tour. The exhibit is currently running through February 12, 2012 at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Scotland. It will then move to its only presentation in North America: April 28 – September 23, 2012 at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington
